Drifting In On February 3rd: Focus RS Release Date Set
For Ford enthusiasts and tuners, February 3rd is likely to become some sort of unofficial holiday. That’s the day that Ford is set to officially unveil the much-anticipated Ford Focus RS. To promote its upcoming arrival, Ford released a short video showing the RS doing what it’s likely to do best: drifting.
For those unfamiliar, drifting is when a driver oversteers, deliberately causing the rear end, or the entire vehicle, to lose traction and slide. Though Ford’s promo video informs us that professional drivers were manning the Focus RS, you can almost see the RS smiling as it undergoes drift after drift, like it has a life of its own.
We’ll have to wait until the Focus RS release date, February 3rd, to get more specific details about the new tuner. Digital Trends speculates that the Focus could be AWD and have a “turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder” powertrain pumping out 300 horsepower. Considering the other stunning performance bombs Ford has dropped so far this year, including the Ford GT350, there’s no doubt the Focus RS will be just as worthy an addition.
